Jeet Kick
The JKD Stop Kick or Jeet Tech with following which include....kicking, trapping and striking. Very good lesson.
After viewing the clip you should have a better appreciation as to why we wear baseball shin guards. The Jeet Tek should stop your opponent's forward momentum. It is a violent and painful kick. Use caution and take care of your training partners.

A simple yet complex idea
Assuming you cannot avoid or evade...The answer to just about any empty hand attack is to:
1). Block Then Hit ( after )
2). Block And Hit ( during)
3. Hit Then Block ( before or intercept )
We always prefer #3 but will take #2 if need be. Number 1 causes us great concern because we are REACTING to our opponent's weapons and energy which. Reacting almost always puts us at a disadvantage for the first 3 seconds of a violent encounter. However, if that is our fate we must quicky REACT with what I call SSvA...Speed, Surprise and violence of Action so we can put ourselves in a position of escape.
You must answer the attack with such overwhelming SSvA that your opponent is left whithering is a corner not knowing what just happened. If you do not act with over whelming force you run the risk of continuing to spend precious time REACTING to grabs, strikes, holds...ETC. Several minutes of REACTING causes us to become Fatigued, Scared and in many cases Paralyzed with Fear.
So practice The R.A.T. to get comfortable with using pressure, practice your basic hand and foot tools so you can better execute The R.A.T. But most of all work on being aware of your surroundings with becoming paranoid...and of course continue training in the art of your choice and add some P.F.S. To the mix.

Kettlebell routine for weight loss and strength
Here is a great program using Kettlebell Complexes for weight loss.
I have been doing complexes for a while now. For this program I use an 8kg (18 lb)bell. I chose a lighter weight so I can get through 5 sets. IT IS NOT EASY even with the lighter KB.
Weeks 1,3,5: A-B-A
Weeks 2,4,6: B-A-B
Program A:
One Hand Swing x10
Snatch x10
Clean + Press x5+5
Front Squat, rack position x5
Program B:
One Hand Swing x10
Clean and Press x5+5
Snatch x10
Reverse Lunge x5
Row x5
Warm up 10 min with halos, pumps and magnificent 7...cool down with yoga plank, table top, downward dog, stretching and deep breathing.
I do this program M-W-F. Keeping T-Th for Turkish Get Ups. I also maintain my evening 3-4 power walk.
